Not A Niche

Thursday, December 27, 2012

I have a confession: I never want to be a niche blogger.

All of the big bloggers out there will tell you to have a niche for your blog, to brand and market yourself in a neat little package so readers can find you more easily. I do think that is good advice, if you only ever want to blog about one thing. I don't. I can't. I want my blog to be a place where I can write about anything and share anything.

I have never been able to just pick one thing. I want to do it all. I love being creative and athletic. I love making jewelry and being a business woman. I love being outdoors and staying in. I am training for a marathon, transitioning to a raw vegan diet, building my business, enjoying life with my husband and family, and I just can't package all of that into a nice little niche. I even think that lifestyle blog is to narrow of a term for what I am doing here. I am a wife, a christian, a vegetarian, a feminist, an artist & crafter, a runner, a writer, a music player & lover, a print shop employee, a tiny apartment liver, a Coloradoan, and why should I just pick one?

I plan on wearing my heart on my blog, and I hope that whoever reads it won't be scared off by my unorthodox blogging.

I am doing my best to live adventurously & creatively and I want this space to reflect that.

I am excited to share my life here, and I am grateful to anyone who joins me.

Wishing you all the best in 2013!

  1. I think this is great! And honestly? I tend to get bored with total niche blogs.

  2. I have the same problem! I don't want to be always writing about the same thing, I get too bored. I personally like reading about all different subjects.
