DIY Coin Envelope Tutorial 9.13.12

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Step 1. Cut your paper of choice into an 8x8 square. | Step 2. Fold two sides into the center with one side slightly overlapping another. | Step 3. Unfold the paper and using a ruler, draw a 1.5 inch line across the top, and then a 1 inch line across the bottom. | Step 4. Using scissors, cut along the line you drew until you reach the fold (do not cut past the fold line) | Step 5. For the top (the 1.5 inch section) fold and glue the cut sections down. | Step 6. For the bottom, remove the cut sections off. | Step 7. Round the corners of the top and bottom tabs. | Step 8. Before gluing, fold envelope and check to make sure it closes flat. Trim any necessary edges to achieve flatness. | Step 9. Add drops of glue to the edge of the shorter side tab and using your finger, spread it out. Close the longer side tab over the short one and smooth with finger. | Step 10. Glue down the bottom tab. | Step 11. Write a letter and mail it to a friend! | Step 12. Share this tutorial.

Thanks for reading my first original tutorial! I love making these envelopes when I want to write a letter to a friend. They really make the whole letter so much more personal and cute. I am off to write a few letters now, I hope you will share this tutorial and make a few yourself! If you do make them, I would love to see photos! You can always e-mail me at earthcolored@gmail.com.
